1.She was the first woman Prime Minister of NZ
2.She is the only woman leader of the National Party so far
3.She was a schoolteacher before she was a Prime Minister

    It’s great to see another post from you! Tino pai for filling the template with information about Jenny Shipley.

    Jenny Shipley wasn’t actually elected to be the Prime Minister, she was the deputy prime minister but she believed the current Prime Minister wasn’t doing as well as he could. She talked to members of the National party and the Prime Minister came back from overseas to find out his party no longer supported him, so he resigned and Jenny Shipley became Prime Minister.

    She was one of the first Prime Ministers who wanted to change the flag. She suggested the silver fern on a black background. If you had the chance to be Prime Minister, would you change the flag?
