Translating Phrases

Nau mai ki Aotearoa. means welcome to New Zealand.


Ko tenei toku ingoa means leah is my name

He aha to ingoa means what is your name

I like to play rugby and in maori He pai taku ki te takaro i te whutupaoro

No hea koe? mean where did you come from?

    Ka pai! It’s great to see that you have translated a few phrases from Maori to English. Did you need to use Google translate to translate them all? Or did you know some of them already?

    It looks like you have missed a phrase. Would you be able to translate Where do your come from? Into Maori. Once you do i can award you with the full amount of points for the activity!

    I remember when I was at school at Okaihau, we learnt heaps of different Maori phrases and waiata.
